A perfect balance of Romanesque draping and architectural tailoring, 40 Decibels achieves creativity outside the parameters of the norm that Canadian born designer Franz Patrick Albana strives to accomplish.
Evident in the Spring Summer 2015 collection is a subtle dualism. Each piece suggests a balance of strength and femininity that lends itself to an aesthetic that is neither an overstatement nor lacking in detail. Designs are heavy on texture and distinct lines, created by concise yet simple seaming, producing a feeling of uniquely interpreted futurism. Routed in a philosophy that “style always conquers trends,” it is apparent in each piece that not only is construction and execution paramount within the collection, but the styling and pairing of each piece with the next is of the utmost importance. Stating that “breaking the rules” will set he and those who are drawn to his collections apart from others, Albana seems to be intent on creating not only beautiful clothing based on countering the standard, but also creating a culture of individuality.
