Youth, love, and fresh blooms are symbolic of the beloved spring season, while summer paints the most vivid picture of sunny skies, ice cream trucks, and smiles. South Korean designers, Jinwoo-Choi and Yeojoo-Koo, integrate all of these elements into one and center their Britain-based label, JKOO, on this dynamic design theme for their men and women’s Spring Summer 2015 collections.
The Central Saint Martins graduates bring their spirited collections to life by utilizing vibrant sunset shades in whimsical prints, while the purest of whites and noir adorn flirty, pleated skirts, polo shirts and crisp shorts, balancing an all-play attitude with a tailored, contemporary dress. JKOO’s runway muses emanate a true confidence carried by the brand in complimentary apparel for the sexes. Choi and Koo present key womenswear looks of multicolored, retro paneled sweatshirts and pencil skirts as well as menswear in the form of tees. The creatives further experiment with abstract printed and relaxed-fit ensembles for men and a child-like, heart-embellished set for women, indeed, capturing a spontaneous vibe driven by the season. Chevron-shaped necklines on lightweight bomber jackets and blouses are the collection’s modern essential, and pockets, crafted on almost every garment, solidify the brand’s inclusive debonair aesthetic.
