With the incoming cool weather, the city leads to rushes of the urbane, standing in wait for their delayed subways and beside gridlocked skyscrapers as traffic pulses around them. Such is the theme of Études Studio’s Autumn Winter 2015 collection, their seventh collection thus far, whose lineage can be traced to two of the grandest cities of the world, Paris and New York.
Though co-founded by Aurélien Arbet and Jérémie Egry, Études Studio is a collective effort that produces both clothing and artist books with their menswear exhibiting the designers’ major creative eyes with prints of polished skylines and transit system time sheets plastered about them. Each suit’s distinct lines create a sense of business urgency, emphasized by the striking cobalts and candy reds that cut through the ever-professional black commonly used. While the entire collection screams ‘young urban professional,’ its contemporary twists silence any potential typecasting, creating a vibrant look that can only brighten the city streets.
