EXPLOSIVE. With the scene set as more of a Ultra rave fest than a fashion show, famed DJ A-Trak blasted mixed tracks of I Love Makonnen, Rae Sremmurd and her majesty, Bae, while the fab four emerging designers that comprised the Fall/Winter 2015 VFILES show, sent their supercharged collections down the concrete runway.
H&M Design Award 2015 winner, Ximon Lee, singlehandedly shut down the chatter of the eclectic and energetic front row through a storming army of men dressed in exaggerated outerwear pieced together in what resembled a child’s construction project, layered with shredded denim and matching slides.
Following suit, recent Parsons grad, Andrea Jiapei Li softly debuted an amplified assemblage of mesh, plastic and neoprene, accompanied by haphazardly placed geometric shapes and juxtaposed color blocking.
Only in their third season, VFILES has managed to, yet again, dazzle us with their ability to pull the freshest New York talent and present it in the most idiosyncratic manner.
