Mixing the aesthetics of maximums and a young, fresh attitude, Huajia Studio is a label that is only one years old. Born and raised in China, Jia Hua, the designer behind the brand, moved to New York to attend Parsons MFA after graduating from Academy of Art and Design, Tsinghua University. Working for various fashion houses such as Diane Von Furstenberg and Vega Zaishi Wang Studio, Hua was destined for fashion domination.
For Autumn/Winter 2015, Hua takes powerful materials and combines them. Textiles, the juxtaposition, the use of color and the merging of sports with casual flair is all quite apparent. Hoagie Studio takes sporty oversized elements and mixes them with ultra feminine silhouettes underneath details such as transparency. Bomber jackets featured mixed fabrics with vertical and horizontal line details in bright shades. Bottoms were cropped and accentuated to be overly baggy. Shirtsleeve tops had a chest pocket detail and once again kept the oversized silhouette at hand: large and slapped with a horizontal stripe, it was all about comfort mixed with a sporty vibe. For the female who is a bit of a rebel and likes large, out there style, this is a label that is certainly one to invest in.
