Hues of dark blues and purples comprised Timur Kim’s Autumn Winter 2015 collection for this past London Fashion Week as accent headpieces served as a focal point, bringing a rebellious tone to the looks. Though currently based in London, Kim was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Russia, where he launched his first collection at the tender age of 16, establishing his current eponymous label in 2012. A graduate of Central Saint Martins, both BA and MA, Kim looks to the future and the assimilation of technology and fashion as inspiration for his work.
This season’s looks included two-tone patchwork leggings, jaunty crop tops, and a combination of hip hugging and relaxed fit slacks, the coloring of which depicted a young, monochromatic perspective. The dresses and skirts portrayed an interesting use of geometry to create shapes that stand in sharp contrast to their simple and clean designs that mimic the direction that fashion technology is taking. While Kim uses his platform to present a defiant collection that oozes courage, he simultaneously inspires change in the future of the world.
