Kenneth Ning Spring/Summer 2016 NYFWM

Men, Fashion, Runway

Inspired to “explore the balance between subversive youth culture and clean tailoring,” Kenneth Ning’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection was filled with bold floral arrangements and geometrical designs, adding a contemporary element despite the monochromatic pairing of brightly hued mustard yellows, aquatic blues and watercolor prints. Ning fully demonstrated his ability to play with fabrication by adding distinctive embroideries in such a methodical way as with his lace graphic appliques that were printed on the cotton facemasks and neckties. The diversity in the collection helped to bridge feminine and masculine sensibilities together, thereby aiding to redefine modern sportswear.
