With a sartorial penchant for creating a sexy and sultry take on the bucket bag, Berlin-based Marina Hoermanseder has created a niche for herself with her Autumn/Winter 2015 collection, for her line entitled “Styled Visions.” The French- Austrian designer, who studied at Berlin’s ESMOD Fashion School and completed her education at Central Saint Martin’s College, takes her cue from fetishism and turning the ugly into the beautiful and interesting. By exploring elements of unconventional fashion and combining it with the highest level of craftsmanship possible, Hoermanseder is able to explore her own “extravagant aesthetic.” Although her over-the-top and unusual designs may not suit every palate, the designer’s work has been getting international acclaim. Hoermanseder has been awarded the Premium Young Fashion Award and also a prize for the “Start Your Fashion Business” in Berlin.
Bondage-inspired details reign supreme in Styled Visions latest offering, which proves that being bold and brash doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to abandon class. Case in point: a vibrant red bucket bag with contrasting hardware accents and corset-style strap detailing. The same bag, seen in more muted colors such as dusty gray, peach and black, helps to expand the notion that subtle can be sexy. Leather cuffs in the same red, gray, peach and black are another offering by the brand, and add yet another dimension to the line. By using vegetable tanned, hand lacquered leather, Hoermanseder is ensuring that the quality of her bags matches their beauty; an exemplary task, clear in the striking end result.
