If Marie Antoinette were alive she’d be frolicking around Versailles in Big Park’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection. The looks were sugar and spice combining modernly severe silhouettes with elements that are considered more classically feminine like ruffles, ribbon and pleats. The clothes were primarily white and black with baroque motifs that are kaleidoscopic visions of baby blue, coral and tangerine flowers. Big Park is all about dichotomy in harmony– an intimidating black suit jacket is softened by playful florals on the lapel; a moto jacket sports leafy blossoms and ruffles at the cuff. It was all very reminiscent of eighteenth century wallpaper with a psychedelic twist. The looks are completed with two romanticism staples: lace up booties in pink and a lace choker. Even if you’re not rebellious royalty, Big Park’s spring offering was formidably chic.
