PLAC’s Spring/Summer 2017 Collection is one cohesive work of art. Inspired by British painter David Hockney’s 1960’s sensibility, PLAC’s newest menswear offerings welcomed an attire of short-sleeved collared button downs, cropped trousers and striped shirts. A psychedelic pair of red-tinted oval sunglasses heightened the mood. This season presented a fresh perspective on the brand. Originally launched in 2010 as a denim label, PLAC redeveloped it’s image with a new found embrace for modern fashion. Designer Sang-Hyun Lee’s affinity for timeless pieces— the navy overcoat and beige chinos— remains a thread throughout his collections. These classic forms, in addition to the pistachio green pullover and bomber jacket look, black and white color blocked tracksuit jacket and classic striped shirts were defining characteristics. It was the color eccentric perspective that unleashed a groovier side to the fundamentals of this menswear brand.
