Chelsea Hansford and Daniel Corriganmay, the team behind Simon Miller, may have premiered their Spring 2017 menswear line on the New York Fashion Week runway, but their collection seemed better suited for vineyard ventures than catwalk couture. Still, the line was nothing less than tailored perfection. The casual yet sophisticated looks carried an impeccable attention to detail, earning the Simon Miller brand a respectable reputation.
Inspired by the beauty of the outdoors, the collection featured a spring palette of olive green, faded rust and mustard yellow to emulate the rich colors of nature. Beyond the use of stimulating earth tones, the Japan-made brand exhibited an appreciation for textiles in a way that reflected the quality of the garments. Distressed denims and textured linens were evident throughout, while sun-dried canvas added to the authentic feel.
With the Simon Miller brand, there is always more than meets the eye, from T-shirts made of both cotton and cashmere to bomber jackets embellished with sleek suede. Ultimately, it is this conscientiousness that leaves us wanting more.
