Israeli designer Hed Mayner has yet again blended his talent for exaggerating proportions with sartorial French styling for a Spring/Summer 2017 collection containing checkered prints and relaxed outwear. Yellow, an already popular hue recurring across several collections this season, has reappeared as an elongated contrasting sleeve on one shirt and as a bright pair of loose-fitting trousers. But this wasn’t the only color to emerge among Mayner’s garments: a soft sea foam green jacket and a subdued tan trench balanced bolder stripes of blues in increasing hues and an all-black bomber-and-trouser combo. Overall, this collection was minimalist yet strongly textural and well organized, but what paid off the most for Mayner was the ability to be realistic in his easy-to-wear patterns and nonchalant boxy silhouettes.
