Undeniably more sober by comparison, Craig Green’s collection for London Fashion Week expressed the experience and audacity of a designer familiar and comfortable with his position. Unflinching and resolute, each of his looks were layered and clad in monochrome shades and textures. Heftiness and weight were visual cues that grounded Green’s collection, only exacerbated by diagonal quilting and what appeared to be a carpet-like textile. Medieval looking skullcaps eventually transitioned to the show’s closing looks: jumpsuits that could only be described as futuristic snow gear. Belted with textured cording and a pastel shoulder strap, Green really is a designer with a look and voice all his own.
