Pronounced, “Sunny,” Italian brand SUNNEI offered a Fall/Winter collection that was exactly that– sunny and bright with a clear spring in its step. Although contradictory for the F/W season, globalized influences in the fashion industry have seemingly eradicated the pressures to design with a particular climate or temperature in mind. Indeed, this collection was tailored for the wardrobe of a cosmopolitan globetrotter. Outerwear was done in cotton canvas, a lighter alternative to the typical renditions done in wool and felted materials. Shirts were left open and styled along with casual denims and sleeve/scarf hybrids (the only indication of the cooler months). A coordinating knit ensemble in electric yellow was pulled straight from the pages of Curious George, a reference to one of childhood’s most memorable world-travelers. And though the puffer jackets were probably quite warm, their chambray stripes made them feel like an equally perfect fit for a summer day lounging on a poolside patio.
