Belgian designer Cedric Charlier channeled the aesthetic of neighboring northern European countries, like those of Sweden and the Netherlands, in his showing at Milan Fashion Week. Neutrals and muted colors were speared with the addition of neon yellow and cool hardware. Ties and belts need no introduction this season, user-garment interactivity a clear selling point this season in all fashion weeks thus far. Looks were composed of simple, angular shapes done in solid hues with minor detailing and layering for visual gravitas. In essence, Charlier presented minimalism with additional color and shape, moving away from the sterility that we’re so accustomed to seeing in minimal fashion.
