Though presented at New York Fashion Week, the Kimmy J Fall/Winter 2017 collection would have been more at home in the youth-centric fashion realm of London. Creative Director Heejin Kim pulled heavily from cyberpunk and early Y2K fashion, resulting in a collection that felt very Tumblr-esque. Fur coats in pastel hues came in both tart apple green and soft lavender colorways, a palette that seemed to recur in the overall collection. Windbreaker pants and hi-vis reflective strips cemented the athletic influence. Though Kim’s seasonal offerings did feel a bit too familiar and verged on being trite, it was at the very least, a cool-looking collection.
