Though most designers stick to the usual showrooms and runways for New York Fashion Week, designers Natalia Maczek and Thomas Wirski of MISBHV hosted their Autumn/Winter 2017 collection in decrepit office space in Manhattan. If you didn’t already know, the Polish brand had its start making designer parody tees which has now evolved, in this collection, into a Gucci-like monogram print. While there were some tamer pieces like the tawny plaid coats which echoed the dreary office setting, Maczek and Wirski held to the brand’s youth-driven roots through Euro-club culture references. Words like, “EXTACY,” were printed on ribbed sweaters and paired with vinyl mini-skirts and knee-high boots. The perfect uniform for Warsaw’s wild and chilly nights out, a crushed velvet puffer jacket in hot pink was a definite statement. Ultimately, MISBHV killed it again this season with a coolly hedonistic take on winter wear.
