Set in a warehouse space with plastic-wrapped boxes, the Haizhenwang presentation included a series of mailroom office, white-collar uniforms updated for a cool Fall/Winter 2017 season. And in the tradition of office attire, pinstripes and oxford shirting were nothing new. However, exaggerated shirt cuffs felt like a natural segue from last season’s bell-sleeved fad and the industrial belts screamed for a DIY tutorial. In line with other collections we’ve seen so far, the FW17 puffer jacket trend made an appearance through peplums and shawl-like scarves. The clear PVC coat was a tad gimmicky, but it helped to connect Wang’s fashion to the setting which worked as a creative catalyst. As for my personal favorite, the yellow-corded mail satchel was a hidden gem — clever but functional, and completely unassuming at first glance.
