With a name stemming from the hybridization of Portuguese-born Tania Martins’ and Iranian-born Mona Koochek’s last names, ‘cool girl’ label Markoo showed its Fall/Winter 2017 collection, true to cool-girl reputation. Oversized pockets and high-waisted trousers were threaded throughout Canadian-brand most recent offerings, shown at RESET.Shiny, black patent leather, and navy satin threads gave maxi dresses and tops a feeling of bravado. One dress was split down the middle with a contrasting-gridded fabric that made up the other half of the garment. An androgynous gray pantsuit was designed with a baggy jacket and matching fold over clutch. An oversized pocket gave the ensemble a more dramatic look compared to the average worksuit. A cropped, red quilted jacket paired with loose leather pants stood out from the more neutral tones in the collection.
Each model rocked classic red lips to complete the outfits. The looser-fitting designs proved that you don’t have to wear body-hugging pants or dresses to show off your figure, and of course, look cool as hell.
