A New Home: CO | TE Spring/Summer 2017

Women, Lookbook, Collections

Two souls and a creative fire were the foundation for the start of CO | TE. Founded by Tomaso Anfossi and Francesco Ferrari in 2010 , the pair have built a dedicated following from their ancestral roots of design immersed with a tact for testing the boundaries of their constructions with the best of Italy’s materials. With the meaning of shelter and protection infused in the name and brand philosophy, the designers practice finding the balance between refinement and avant-garde tastes as the core of their aesthetic. And indeed, the pair practice what they preach in their latest collection.

The urbanity of the designers is expressed through modern reinterpretations of old trends. Exaggerated tiers, extravagant ruffles and bountiful bows flooded the industry this season, making it difficult to stand out and remain a memorable designer. The collection featured an array of eclectic prints housed by traditional bodices. Anfossi and Ferrari marked their pieces, too, with large ruffles, mixed prints and dissimilar hems but instead opted for a ‘90s color scheme. A few of the highlights included high waisted culottes with bow hip detailing, A-line skirts with cascading ruffles and contrasting prints that battled for attention on classic cuts. The collection encapsulates freedom, expression and forward thinking from hem to hem. At the cross section of individuality and innovation, CO | TE stands true.
