Harmony Through Diversity: POAN Spring/Summer 2018 MFWM

Runway, Women, Men, Collections, Runway

An acronym for Peoples of All Nations, POAN released their ambitious Spring/Summer 2018 collection at Milan Fashion Week Men’s just the other day. Like the cosmopolitan sounding nature of the mysterious label, the clothes themselves drew from diverse references that are impossible to pinpoint to any particular time and place. Among the slew of seasonal pieces, tortoise-shell and clear vinyl were the most eye-grabbing choices, contested only by circuit-board print pieces near the show’s close. Though garish, the clear pieces highlighted the body donning the garment, which ultimately was the point that POAN was trying to drive home.
