On a sunny Parisian street, audience goers at Henrik Vibskov’s runway show were treated to a happy-go-lucky display for next year’s Spring/Summer season.. The designer is notorious for his strong prints; this season included knitted foxes, Marimekko-esque daisies and a yin-yang symbol with a koi fish. The pieces incorporated reworked loungewear, like in the pink seersucker pajama set as well as the kimono robe. With lackadaisical flair, the collection also pushed for cropped and half-rolled up lengths and a fun trompe l’oeil effect with grey trousers atop a casual suit.
Deconstructed and reworked shirting was a running theme in the Spring/Summer 2018 collections. While we saw it here too, Vibskov incorporated a whimsical eccentricity in his own work. The designer rises the ranks against others in the Parisian scene with a sweet collection, exuding charm and wit.
